How to purchase items on Basic Sense

Follow the steps listed below:
(In this instance we are buying a Straight Sale item as an example)
 
STEP 1 - ADD TO CART
 
  • Select the quantity of the item that you wish to buy. The current available stock level is displayed above the quantity selector. 

  • Click on the “Add to cart” button. A green system message will be displayed at the top of the page to confirm that the item was successfully added to your cart.

  • Continue shopping for more items or proceed to step 2. Continue shopping for more items or proceed to checkout by clicking on the “Checkout” link located in the Shipping Cart Block. The shopping cart block is located in the left sidebar on large devices (e.g. laptops) and at the bottom of the page on small devices (e.g. cellphones).

STEP 2 - LOGIN or REGISTER (for anonymous users)

The Login screen is only displayed to anonymous users (e.g. unregistered or logged-out users). Logged-in users are automatically directed to the checkout page.

  • Logged-out users - complete the login fields and then click on the “Continue to next step” button. 

  • Unregistered users – click on the “Continue to next step” button. A Free user account will be automatically created for you after completing the checkout process. An email containing your login instructions will be sent to the email address supplied during the checkout process.

  • You will be directed to the Review Order page.

STEP 3 - CHECKOUT

Complete the checkout form and then click on the "Continue to next step" button. You will be directed to the Review Order page.

STEP 4 - REVIEW ORDER
 
  • Review your order details to ensure that your cart contents and account information is correct. In the event of a mistake you can click on the “Go back” button and you will be returned to previous page.

  • Select your payment method and then click on the “Continue to next step” button. IMPORTANT: You must click on this button in order to complete the checkout process and to secure your order.

Bank Transfer (EFT) - you will be directed to Checkout Complete page. 

    • Go to your Bank's Internet Banking website, login and complete the payment as you normally would when doing an EFT/Internet Banking. 

    • Proof of Payment must be sent to auctionsatbasicsense [dot] co [dot] za within 48 hours after completing the checkout process to secure your order. Failure to pay or to provide proof of payment within the 48 hour grace period will void your transaction and the order will be canceled.

Pay-in-Person - you will be directed to Checkout Complete page. 

    • Pay-in-person payments must be made at the Basic Sense Showroom - Corner of Sybrand van Niekerk Highway & Johan le Roux off-ramp, Meyerton, Gauteng, South Africa.

    • All pay-in-person payments must be made in South African Rand (ZAR).

    • Payment must be made in full within 48 hours. Failure to pay within the 48 hour grace period will void your transaction and the order will be canceled.

STEP 5 - VIEW ORDER

After completing your purchase, you will receive an order confirmation email. New users will receive a separate account confirmation email with login instructions.

To view your order:

  1. click on the “view your order” link provided on the Checkout Complete page (see image above) or; 

  2. go to your orders page by clicking on the Customer Zone main menu tab and then clicking on the “My Orders” menu icon or;

  3. click on the order link provided in the Order Confirmation Email. 

    • If you do not receive your email shortly after completing your purchase, please check your “Spam” or “Junk E-mail” folders in case the message was routed to one of these folders by your email functionality, instead of to your inbox.
