FICA Requirements for Listed Companies

Listed Companies
 

  • Registered name (Does not need to be verified)

  • Registration number (Does not need to be verified)

  • Registered address (Does not need to be verified)

  • Physical operating address (Does not need to be verified)

  • Company's income tax and value added tax registration numbers. Only applicable if the company has been issued such numbers. (Does not need to be verified)

  • Proof of securities exchange listing. Official documentation from the relevant securities exchange, or other acceptable source, reflecting current listing status.

  • A resolution/mandate authorising representative(s) to establish a business relationship or enter into a transaction on behalf of the company.

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. Exemption 6(1) of the FICA Exemptions applies to companies that are listed on a stock exchange mentioned in the Schedule to the Exemptions. This exemption only applies to the listed company and not to unlisted subsidiaries or operational entities within the group.   2. All documents provided must be either:

    • An original, or
    • A copy of the original document sighted by a Basic Sense employee, or

    • A copy of the original document certified by an independent Commissioner of Oaths (Certification must contain the full names, title and signature of the Commissioner of Oaths and wording should stipulate "Certified a true copy of". Where the document has more than one page, the stamp/full commission must appear on either the front or back page and the Commissioner must initial every page of the document in between.)
